Apex Open Space Park

What a great day for riding. Apex Park is another Jefferson County Open Space Park that is close by to the stable. Maybe was a fifteen minute drive with more than ample parking. The trailhead is located at Heritage Square. The planned ride could not be completed due to the loss of a front shoe on Daisy. We did cover 5.5 miles of the planned 8.2 miles. We will return again and complete the planned ride that'll take us up to Buffalo Bill's gravesite. Now........how exciting is that!!!??? Nice park. Two thumbs up!

The photos are Noel and Daisy looking towards Green Mountain (another open space park), and North and South Table Mountains looking towards Golden. The beautiful green valley was a surprise and there were many homes located there. Great horse property for sure. Finally, a photo of Butch, well, just being Butch.

Boulder Open Space Park. Mesa Trail.

An abundance of sunshine and warm early summer-like temperatures, was the setting for this ride on the Mesa Trail located a couple of miles west off Highway 93 going towards Boulder. Noel on Daisy, and I, of course, on Butch, traveled at a slow pace, 6.30 miles in 3 hours. I think s-l-o-w is Butch's middle name!
